Air Duct Cleaning in Mesquite, TX

What a Mesquite duct system actually looks like inside
Start at the furnace closet, not the registers. Many Mesquite homes hide the air handler in a hallway closet with louvered bifold doors. The return pulls through that louver. Closet dust, shoe grit, and lint load the filter from the room side. Vacuum the closet floor before you touch a duct.
Next, look at the boot where it meets the ceiling drywall. Builders here set boots then cut drywall around them. The gap gets mudded, not sealed. Attic air enters there, carrying blown fiberglass. That gray fuzz on your register fins came from above, not from the duct.
Mesquite sits on expansive clay. Foundations move seasonally with the wet and dry swings. Attic framing racks a little each time. Strap-hung flex sags between joists and forms a low belly. Dust settles in the belly and stays. Shine a light along the run and find the dip.
Homes near Town East and the older streets by Galloway have mature pecans. Roof rats use the limbs. Check insulation on top of ducts for runways and droppings before anyone sells you a cleaning.
Photograph the plenum interior yourself with a phone. A register photo proves nothing.

Call (214) 550-0432What Happens After You Call Us
Call and tell us how many supply vents and returns you have, and we give you a two hour arrival window with the technician's name. Most days we can be out the same week, and the estimate costs nothing.
We walk the attic runs and open a return before we quote. The price depends on the number of branch runs, the duct type, and whether the blower wheel needs pulling.
We clean the trunk and branches, replace your filter, and run the system so you can feel the airflow at the farthest vent. You pay the quoted number, not a dollar more.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why does fine brown dust keep settling on my furniture every late summer, even right after I dust?
That's usually attic soil, not household dust. Mesquite sits right up against open prairie to the east, and during dry stretches the wind pushes fine soil into attics through soffit and gable vents. Once it's in the attic it works into flex duct at the connections, the boot collars and around any register that isn't sealed tight to the ceiling drywall. Every time the blower starts, some of it comes down into the room. Cleaning the ducts helps, but we'll also point out where the air is getting in, since if the attic keeps loading up you'll see it again next summer.
We're close to the I-635 and US-80 interchange area. Does the traffic actually affect what's in our ducts?
It shows up more than people expect. Road grit and brake dust from the 635, I-20 and US-80 corridors drift into the neighborhoods on either side, and homes near those corridors tend to have a darker, grittier deposit on the return side and on the blower wheel than homes further off. It's heavier and it packs down rather than fluffing off like ordinary lint. We usually spend extra time on the return drop and the blower housing in those houses, since that's where it collects first and where it gets recirculated from.
Our house in one of the newer subdivisions out east is only a few years old. Is there anything to clean yet?
Often yes, and not for the reason you'd think. Newer Mesquite builds have good modern R-8 flex, but a lot of them still have drywall dust and sawdust sitting in the supply runs from construction. Registers go in before the house is finished, trades sweep and cut with the system running, and that debris settles in the low spots of the flex where it stays for years. If nobody cleaned it at handover, it's still there. We'll scope a couple of supply runs first and tell you honestly whether it's worth doing.
What makes one Mesquite house cost more to clean than the one next door?
Mostly register count and how the attic is laid out. Most of the older single-story brick ranches here are straightforward: slab construction, one air handler, ducts all in one accessible attic, and those sit at the simpler end. What pushes it up is a home that's been added onto with a second system, long flex runs crawling over a low-pitch attic section where we can't stand up, or duct that's deteriorated enough that cleaning isn't the right call and we need to talk about repair instead. We walk the attic and count openings before quoting, so the number reflects your actual house rather than an average.
